I bought the needles, followed all the instructions, knitted my swatch, and I've come to the conclusion - I don't like the magic loop method. So now I'm back to knitting with my dpn's and it's working quite nicely...even though it seems that I'm working on a sock designed for my garden gnome, it's al peachy.
I should have just bought one needle instead of 3. Imagine...I can have yarn instead!
